* Status values: 
   * Open: Issue is only reported here.
   * Flag: Issue is flagged in the cmip6-ng 'file_qf' variable and described in the 'unfixed_issues' attribute. Issue is not fixed! (To exclude files with unfixed but flagged issues it is normally enough to exclude files with file_qf == 1) 
   * Fixed: Issue is fixed in the cmip6-ng file and flagged as resolved in the 'file_qf' variable. A description of the fix is given in the 'fixes' attribute.
   * Fixed_ESGF: Fixed on ESGF by modelling institute after reporting, new files provided

Thank you for the email. Here's some guidance from one of our scientists regarding your question. 

The "preferred grid" comment can be ignored here.  Our ocean and sea ice native data are on "gn"; ocean/sea ice regridded data are on "gr"; atmosphere and land regridded data are on "gr1" and "gr2".  Native grid atmosphere data would not be useful since the cubed-sphere grid is not logically rectangular.

Aerosol forcings are running until 2016, so this is actually correct. To be consistent we still cut it at 2014. Please use the original files is you still need values after 2014.
